Keepsake ultrasound businesses keep growing in uncertain economy

In uncertain economic times like this, smart business people look for recession-proof businesses to invest in. While so many industries slow down during a tough economy, people will never stop having babies and many entrepreneurs have capitalized on that by entering the keepsake ultrasound industry. One example is Crystal Scherer and Elizabeth Combest , who just opened a new business called Now Showing 3d/4d Ultrasound in Killeen, Texas north of Austin. According to an article on the Killen Daily Herald website, the business is a franchise of United Imaging Partners in Austin, which has quickly grown to nearly 100 locations across the United States since being founded in 2002.

“Seventy percent of people are introduced to the 3d/4d ultrasound industry because they are pregnant or just had a baby,” said Curt Dimmick of UIP. “They see a market void and want to bring this exciting business to their area. We provide them with the foundation and necessary tools to succeed.”

Investors will find that entering the keepsake ultrasound industry is more affordable than ever, thanks to the availability of used ultrasound equipment and refurbished ultrasound machines. To be able to keep up with the latest technology, the leasing of ultrasound machines is also an option to consider. Entering any new business venture can be risky, but it helps to know that the demand for keepsake ultrasound photos and videos will never go away unless people stop having babies, and that’s a pretty safe bet not to happen.
